Becoming a mother is a profound transformation, a time when your body, identity, relationships and sense of self are deeply shifting.
There are many layers to this transformation: your priorities change, your responsibilities too, alongside the time you have for yourself. Questions about who you are and how you live become inevitably louder.
I support mothers through this deep transition, creating space connect to the new person you're becoming, while keeping in touch with the person you've always been.
A somatic process uses the wisdom of the body: you receive hands-on touch, and work with your breath, body awareness and verbal expression. Together we create a safe, trauma-sensitive space for you to:
Grow trust in your intuition
Gain clarity about your priorities
Live from who you truly are
The Birth of a Mother
The Process
I accompany you all the way through your transition, whether it is for you just a few months or five years. We build a strong relationship where I support your growth and witness you becoming who you really are. You can come to process motherhood at any time, whether you are expecting a child or your kids are already grown-ups.
At the start of a process together, we will discuss your intentions and define an appropriate timing together.
Stages of Pregnancy
It’s safe to receive a somatic session during all stages of pregnancy, since my touch is truly about connecting you to yourself. Should you have any medical contraindication, we can continue a process online until it is safe again to meet in person.
Meeting online only is also totally relevant.
My Story
My pregnancy was the biggest initiation into the life I live today. I was surrounded by wise women: midwives, doulas and kraamzorg*, who all encouraged me to trust my body, my intuition and trust nature to do its work. While I truly loved the “concept” I simply didn’t have the resources to actually live it. Coming from a very mentally-driven world, pregnancy set me on a totally different path: towards a life where I deeply align my body, mind and spirit. After a bold career shift from art direction in fashion to opening my somatic practice, I now support others through all sorts of transitions, but all with the same goal: living the life that’s truly for you!
*kraamzorg: dutch profession of after birth care-takers at home.
